    2017 BCPFFA Memorial

    This years 2017 British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters Memorial honouring our Fallen Brothers and Sisters took place March 6, 2017 in Victoria BC.  The offiial ceremony took place at the British Columbia Parliament Building. We Honoured Fourteen Fallen Fire Fighters this year with many family members and Fire Fighters during the memorial. We commemorate the Fire Fighters who gave their lives in service of their communities and citizens.

    2016-2018 BCPFFA Executive Board

    On August 13, 2016, the BCPFFA held convention in Las Vegas Nevada, Prior to the IAFF convention being held. Above is the new Executive board with President Gord Ditchburn and Secretary/Treasurer Todd Schierling Principal Officers. The new Board will continue work towards all Fire Fighter issues in BC as in past Executive Boards.

    PTSD Launch

    Today at Firehall 1, Vancouver Fire and Rescue Services, IAFF Local 18 and the Canadian Mental Health Association were proud to announce the launch of our new mental wellness initiative for VF&RS staff. Emergency services staff are enduring a mental health epidemic. Suicide, PTSD and home-life problems are far higher among firefighters, paramedics and police than in the general population.

    2015 BC Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial

    The British Columbia Professional Fire Fighters Fallen Fire Fighter Memorial was held March 9th 2015 in Victoria BC. This year, sadly, there were 13 names of Fallen Brothers and Sisters added to this years memorial service.
